Artist's Comments

This is a 3D version of Eugene Blaas’s famous artwork, "A pensive moment" ([link]) that I have done for Balestic Publishing's "d'artiste Character Modeling 2" and I hope it is accepted to be printed in the book (wish me luck ;) ).
The main job was done in 3Ds max 8. Rendering has been done in several passes using the default max scanline. Besides following the details of the painting as much as possible, it has been tried for the 3D work to look like a painting. For achieving this purpose, a lot of touching has been done on the image in Photoshop CS2. The texture of the wall is grabbed from an image of the painting with a camera mapping trick; but almost all of the textures are made in Zbrush 2. I know it does not resemble the painting 100 percent, so any kind of critics are most welcomed.
